Basically two connections to the chassis: the big black plastic one on the firewall, drivers side, below the relay bracket; and the 2-piece one under the dash, passenger side, near the ECM. There is a lot of variation year by year, and you didn't list the model year so some of this may not exactly match up to your application.

Disconnect the battery, remove the ECM, disconnect the two chassis connectors above, disconnect the starter wiring, and then follow each engine connector. The wiper motor connector is also in the harness.

Right offhand you'll lose the wipers, water temp and oil pressure gauges, fuel pump power, reverse lights, transmission torque converter clutch, and starter solenoid trigger. May be others you'll lose also, again it depends on the year of the car.

TPI HARNESS

thanx for the help.it is a 1987 iroc with a 350.it already has an aftermarket 350 turbo tranny in it,so hopefully i'll just have to worry about the wipers and back-up lites.i will replace the guages anyway and the fuel pump.
