What PSI should I set it at?
Hi guys, I just bought a crane AFPR from thunderracing. When it gets warmer outside I want to go and install this. But the real question I have is what PSI should I set it to. I have a pretty much stock 305 TPI (no major engine mods except a little porting, see sig). So I have heard stock is around 42PSI correct? Should I just go and slap it up to 50psi or add a pound or 2 and get a feel at each different psi level? This is just gonna be a seat of the pants judgement since she wont see a dyno in a long time. Thanks in advance guys!!!

Whatever psi makes your car the fastest. If every car worked best at a certain PSI, they wouldn't sell adjustable ones.

At least get to the track and do some back to back runs. Butt-dyno can't detect small increases in HP when it comes to setting fuel pressure. At the very least, borrow, steal, or buy a G-tech and do some back to back averages to set it. Otherwise, your guess is as good as anyone elses. I guess 48 psi...

The only problem with setting PSI at the track is that your runs have to be all the same. You have to be consistant. And why cant a dyno detect minor HP increases? Setting the fuel pressure and timing together should be seen on a dyno, No?

Ahem... Butt-dyno... as in "seat of the pants"...
A real dyno for sure can detect those things, especially one equipped with a wide band O2 sensor.
