Would this do much?

I was wondering..the air that goes to your TB...Plenum...and so on.. needs to be smooth as possible without to many restrictions right? Well....the air inlet hose...that connects to the Throttle Body....its kind of ridgged...on the inside....could you get like a peice of bendable hose...shaped the same was as the air inlet hose....to line it with..so..it's smooth...and then....the air would flow just a little smoother wouldn't it? I know it's not going to make a TPI equipped Camaro or Firebird pop wheelies..haha...but...wouldn't do alteast a little good?Here...check this out..I found it on a corvette site....but..they want like 50 bucks for it http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=689 ..I'm sure not paying that much for just a piece of smooth hose. I still want to keep the factory apperance on the outside of the ait inlet tube....but..have it smooth inside... Any thoughts...suggestions..comments would be great..thanks guys.

It will give a minimal increase in power. The Viper tuners all sell smooth tubes and a lot of the Viper boys get them with other intake mods as they are cheap compared to other Viper parts. As I said, the gains will be minimal but on a built motor you will get a few more HP.

The LS1 guys have it too - they call it a single bellow TB hose. Erm, I think it;d be hard to line the inside of your hose. I think you can probably go to a hardware store and find something suitable for real cheap. Just a piece of heavy rubber or silicone tubing that is 2.5x3.5, which I believe is the TB entrance dimensions.

Ok...if it's not then..is it just a scam or what?....because..in the magazine...they are like 50 bucks...which I would never pay that much for...but....I thought it was one of those things "every little thing counts".....so..I thought one could be made with little money instead of buying one 50 bucks.....

They're around because some people are ill-informed and would pay the money for it. Why do you think people buy Tornados? If you really want to do it go for it, otherwise spend your time on something else.

It's not a scam dude. It's elimination of a ridged tubing and smooth tubing taking it's place. I wouldn't pay 50.00 for prefab, I would just go out and pick up some cheap materials and get to figuring out which one would be the best to make something similar. The LS1 guys gain a few horses from it, it was in a GMHTP mag a few months back in an article about LS1 bolt-ons.

On the 1LE camaros they used a different type of inlet tube and I have seen them on ebay pretty frequently. Just type in 1LE on the search and you can probably find one, but be patient because you may not find one right away. You may have to wait a couple of weeks for someone to list one.

Whatever floats your boat ya know. If you wanna go out and do something to your car, go for it, but don't be expecting anything. Guys have ran far faster than you using the stock setup...
