Tpi conversion question.

I have a 305 tbi,and I will be putting in a 1989 350 tpi in it's place. I want to know if I can use the same wire harness that came with the engine, and get a computer form 90-92 so I can make it speed destiny. Can this be done? Also since I have the vats system will this mess it up putting in a different computer. If anyone can help please do. Thanks.JDV.

You can use your existing harness, but....
you'll have to splice in six more pairs of injector wires, and put in the proper connectors.

It's not at all hard to do, once you find the connectors (they're just standard Bosch injector connectors).

You'll also have to repin the ECM connectors, which means you'll have to pick up the third connector (the TBI computer doesn't have it) and add that in as well. You can find all the relevant diagrams here. Mike Davis' website on the 165-730 conversion should help you tremendously.

There's probably some misc. stuff that I'm not thinking about right off the top of my head, but it'll all become apparent once you start researching.
