running LEAN!?!?!?!?
i just pulled the plugs out of my car and they all have a coating of white or somewhat light tan on them.
no matter how high i turn the fuel pressure up the plugs are still white i had it all the way up to 60 and no difference, i have the stock 19lb injectors and stock intake but have world products sportsman2heads w/200cc runner,2.02,1.60 valves and a 502/510 224/230 @.050 cam along with other mods...i figured since i wasnt flowing much more air through that stock intake that i could hold off on the injectors for now, or until the stealthram goes on in 2 weeks
do you guys think that the 24lb injectors are a must have to solve this problem or could it be just an 02 sensor
its been like this for maybe a month, not sure, because i put new plugs in it a little more than a month ago DELCO 45's.ive also noticed the car seems to perform alot worse lately, what kind of damage could i have done to the motor by running it lean to long

change fuel filter.
If it's plugged, your fuel pressure can register where you set it, at idle, and then under load, when fuel flow is demanded, the pressure drops out.
FWIW, your plugs don't sound lean to me. They sound like normal, clean plugs. Maybe I'm misuderstanding your words.
can you post a pic?

i just changed the fuel filter last weekend so that should be ok, i only had the guage on while it was idling and not under load...i was thinking maybe the fuel pump is getting weak and on its way out...if i have a big drop off under load w/ a new fuel filter, would it then be the fuel pump thats goin bad?
ill try to post a pic later on, when i get my friends digital camera, but ive showed the plugs to a few mechanics i know at local shops and they all say it looks to be running lean...and a couple said for that combination i DEFINITELY need the bigger injectors and the stock injectors wont flow enough even at 70psi

I didn't read your specs closely enough the first time. With a cam that size, and those heads, you will be way beyond stock injectors.
While bigger injectors and higher fuel psi may improve it, with that range of mods (especially the SR), I hope a custom chip is in your plans. You're definitely going to need it.
If you want to test the stock fuel pumps capacity, put a clamp (vise grips or something) on the fuel return line. clamp it down good and tight, so no fuel gets by. With no fuel bypassing, you will see the maximum fuel pressure your pump can produce. don't run it too long like that. Just for testing purposes. Long term would shorten the pump life dramatically.
Something else you can do in the mean time (this is not a long term fix) is take the vacuum off the fuel pressure regulator. This will keep vacuum from reducing your fuel pressure. This is also a temporary fix, to allow you to get around. It would not help any at WOT, where you would still be lean, but if you just want to get around for another week or two before you put on the SR, this will help.
Believe it or not, I had an 87 MPFI v6 that ran on only 11 PSI. Pulling the vacuum hose helped a little, and allowed me to drive it a couple days until it's repair appointment. I have no idea how that worked. That car should have never even started with FP that low.

i was gonna go with the 24lb SVO ford injectors with the stealthram along with a custom chip by ed wright at fastchip,i was thinking 24's would be good for this combo, but do any of you think i should go a little bigger maybe 26lb accel injectors?
yeah i heard about pulling the vacume line off as a temporary solution and im gonna give it a shot...can running the car lean like that cause detonation or any other problems?
