Removal OF EGR

Hey all I am in the process of replacing my LB9 (auto) cam with the LT4 cam and my EGR is bad. Can I just do away with it since I do not have any smog test in my area? What is the down side of doing this?

Thanks

Well the purpose of an EGR is to recycle the exhaust into the intake too cool the combustion lowering Nox. This off course only happens at WOT and not at idle. Its really not gonna affect anything if u delete it. I believe u will get a code.

If you want to get rid of it, you should disable it in the ECM. 2 second fix in the PROM.

BTW, EGR is not active at WOT, it's active only at cruise throttle levels.
