Not the actual LTR intake, just the dual boxes intake that goes into the TB.

Anyway I was thinking about some stuff and thought one might experience some actual power gains on a stock L98 if they did three things to enhance the air intake.

1. Cut the boxes at an angle.
(to aid in ease of air entry)

2. Fabricate/find material without bellows to replace the "bellowy" stock throttle body hose.
(to aid in ease of air passage)

3. Drop in a functional throttle body foil.
(to increase TB cfm slightly)

I was thinking this would be a good combo to apply to ones stock dual box setup, and was thinking it'd make an actual difference - anyone have an opinion on my idea or an idea of thier own to share?

 

D, thats been done by a lot of people..most people just cut the bottom of the boxes and then hook up some type of ram air that goes right behind the fog lights. as for the rubber hose that connects to the throttle body, i have looked for a 3"to 4"adapter, but have yet to see any really good looking things in HD or Lowes... i have seen some vette owners with orange traffic cones cut at the lenght to fit the maf and the tb... i thought if you painted it black, you would be all set. and all TB air foils are functional.. i really dont know what you mean by that.. but all that really could improve your breathing. i say give it a try and let us know what you felt...

 

Word I know many people do one or two of these things, but I was going to trial this as a difference between stock intake and these three mods all at once. I'll let everyone know (whoever cares) if & when I find some good stuff to fab the bellowless tb hose, I might take a look at traffic cones I think that just might work...
