Temp gauge not working

Well guys I had a problem posted in the tech/general board about my car not starting. I am pretty sure that this is related to that. Well my temp gauge will not move up at all, it just sits below 100 degrees. I noticed after changing the plugs/wires that a connector by the AC pump is hanging not connected to anything, is this the temp guage hookup?? It is a single green wire coming from a big set of wires from the fire wall, it then splits right by the AC pump. Where does this hook into? Is this related to the temp gauge? If not what steps do I take to determine how to fix my temp gauge? Thanks....

Should hook to a sensor in the side of the passenger side head between cyl. 1 and 3.
