good mods for a 1986 Trans-am 5.0tpi

what are some good starter mods for a 1986 transam 305tpi. with will it take to run mid 14's?

Get headers and a catback. Depending on how many miles you might want to replace the cat as well with a high flow unit. A camshaft would be my next mod for you.
