My video.....

Here is a video of my car if your interested. Thought I would share it with you all.

I was scanning the car during this takout and I was only at 60% throttle according to the Ease Software. I did not go full WOT because I get pinging past 1/2 throttle without the "Rocket Fuel" ( A mixture of Toluene, ATF ) for a resulting octane of 110+.

You can see the car kick sideways about 30ft up the road, and this was with 10" new M/T slicks.

Expecting way low 11's or even high 10s out of it.

Enjoy the video....

That sure is a bunch of compression! Please spill all the knowledge you have of homemade octane boosters, it would be much appreciated.

Here is it in the nutshell, you have to find what combo you need. Basically you need the least amount for no detonaion, any more and it can hurt performance.

Nifty! What % do you run to eliminate ping at WOT?

Not real sure to be 100% honest with you. I figuring it will not take all that much ~96-100 octane should do it. I am meeting corkvette1 tomoorow outside of pittsburgh to pick up both race gas and the 5 gal of toluene. I am gonna try the race gas first, and see how that reacts and then mix up small amounts with the toluene to find you what works the best. Its gonna be sorta trial and error.

I am guessing that I won't need a whole lot more octane to keep it from pinging. The car pings much less with 94 then 93. With 93 I can't even get on it at all. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for keeping the loop open! Oh my is 93 all you can get!!! I am here in AZ and stuck tied to the California laws on fuel and the best we can get out here is 91, pisses me off. I got stuck plugging in 12cc dishes into my new 383 Vs. flat tops. Oh well 10.25 is still pleanty enough for the street.

Much congrats on the times, saw em on the vette forum!!!! That is fu__in flyin, with the old 165 might I ad. I have read of your battle against the 165 from your first burn till your latest pass. I am modding an ARAP right now for my SR-383. Could you give a brief description on where you ended up with your chip? Did you end up with an ARAP or go to 32b? What parameters did you emphasize on modding out to get your fuel on? All info would be very much appreciated as I hope to get a decent data log with my first few burns and definitely dont want to ever spend the time to burn hundreds of SD chips.
