I will bet you that it is not the relays or wiring!!!!
Under what driving conditions does the ECM set the 33 code???
Be very specific.

Does is try and stall at lights and when ever you are stopped. I had a similar problem, and it turned out the be the MAF burnoff relay.

For the past two years it has always been the wiring or the relays. What makes you think that it isn't.
Do a search to find how to check all of the wiring, and then let us know what you get. I would change the burnoff relay first, then if that doesn't work, check all of the wiring and relays.

I'm having the same code with a 2 month old Wells MAF, but my code comes on after about 10 seconds of starting the car. Turn it off for a minute or so and it is not there when your restart the car, but 10 seconds later there it is. I'm running out of ideas.
Anyone?

SAR,
If you are having pretty much the same symptoms as above, you need to look at both MAF and Burnoff relays. If one or the other is not working, that code will pop up.

This could only be a few things..
MAF Burnoff relay
MAF Power relay
MAF itself
MAF wiring to ECM
MAF wiring to relays
My wires got toasted by the side of the radiator.. check that..

Maroon-IROC-Z:
Many of us on this board for the last 5 years (some of these members have left the board) has had issues with the 33 error code. I had this problem (in around 1997 to 1998) and did the usual recommended stuff, change the MAF burnoff relay, change the MAF power relay, bought a new MAF (oach!), reset the TPS voltage at idle, etc, etc. It got to the point that I could go out to drive the car and I could predict when the code would show up. It was a specific set of driving conditions that can trigger the 33 code. In some cases, it could be one the relays, but in most cases that I have seen on this board, it was not the relays or the wiring.
My statement that I made above is based on fact, a very expensive fact for me having purchased all I did before I determined that a specific set of driving conditions was setting off the 33 code.
You can also get rid of the 33 code for good by having a custom Eprom chip burned for your car. This is the only sure fire way that I know of.
