Increasing TPS voltage for performance?
Increasing TPS voltage for performance?
Has anyone heard (I don't know if this is true or not) that if you increased the voltage reading that the TPS gives from .52 to about .67, you could gain some horsepower? Any drawbacks to increasing your TPS voltage?

Enter the Venom 400 TPS module... Snake Oil that improves part throttle HP but doesn't do diddly for full throttle HP (when it counts). This gives great part throttle seat of the pants feel and is why so many import street racers swear by it.

at least he's asking about it instead of installing it then calling us all stupid for telling him it doesn't work.

If I am not mistaken, this 'trick' is in the TPIS Insider Hints Book that costs like $50 or whatever. It wouldn't hurt to try it and see how your car responds. If you like how it changes your part throttle response than go with it, it certainly won't make your WOT performance any worse.
if you have read anything on the DIY-PROM board, you might have a better understanding of HOW it works. when you "advance" the TPS like that, the engine thinks you are at a higher throttle opening, when in fact you are not. so the computer gives the engine some more fuel, and when you step on the gas, the extra fuel is already there. it is sort of like the whole pump shot on a carbeurator. when you get into promnburning, you can actualy create your own "pump shot" by adjusting one of the tables... I think it is 'accel enrichment vs. delta TPS'..... and you WILL notice a very nice seat in the pants difference when you jam on the throttle coming off a stop light.
just a little FYI I guess lol
