'86 - '88 Intake Manifold difference
I could get an 86 TPI setup from a corvette pretty cheap. I was going to port the intake and keep my original one in case I screw up.
I really don’t want to take a chance on mine but I wonder if the ’86 vette intake will even bolt up with my ‘88 LB9 heads.
Will it work ? What would I have to change, to make it work??
Thanks a lot
Alex

If you slot a few of the bolt holes it'll bolt up.
Your problem is going to be with EGR. The vette intake doesn't get the exhaust gasses from the heads like your LB9. It gets the gasses from a tube that comes off the back exhaust manifold. You're either going to need to do a similar type of EGR, or eliminate it entirely. You're also going to need to use the f-body fuel rails.
Also keep in mind that the vette intake doesn't flow ANY better than your stock one. Stock intakes are available cheap enough on Ebay that I'd just port your stock one, and if you botch it up, buy another one.
