SLP CAI ducting, same as stock or not?

Okay, please guys, once and for all. Is the stock ducting on the '88-'92 TPI 'birds the same as the SLP single inlet CAI setup or not? I've just finished reading both that SLP provided them so they're identical, and that the stock unit has a smaller ID than the aftermarket unit. Which is correct?

I don't know about 1990 and up but the 88-89 years are the same except they added a couple of fins inside the air tube for smoother air flow I guess.
