Engine: L-98 with LO-3 induction. 350 CFI
Transmission: 5 speed and vette has 700r4
Axle/Gears: 373's in T/A .. vette unknown
timing ?? and a few others

hey guys need help with my timing ... BUT .... heres the thing the engine I'm working on is a 1982 305, but I replaced all the electronics on the car with stuff from a 1987 trans am that had a 350 and automatic with tuned port injection, so will my 82 305 run with the newer timing settings, also what type of plug and what gap should I run, since the ecm and prom are from a 350 how will it react with 305 injectors, also my car now has a 5 speed in it, how would I set the idle on it ? I have to have very good answers since the smogNAZI's will be picking my car apart, are sensors for the ECM specific to the model year? does my 82 305 have provisions for a knock sensor ? how will my 305 react to the hotter coolant temperatures when it was designed to run alot cooler ? and last but not least will a mass airflow system idle good with a LG-4 cam, I know replace the wimpy cam, but I'm not looking for power out of the car just nice driveability, I am running full emmisions equipment from the 87 motor so I'm hoping all will work out fine and it will burn alot cleaner than my old feedback carb.

I think first you would need a chip that matches your application a little closer. Far from being a TPI guru I would say you need a chip from a 305 TPI 5 speed that would get the computer a little more in line with the actual hardware in the car. That's where i would start at least.
