TPI Swap just finished..ENGINE WON'T CRANK...HELP
I Just finished a tuned port swap and tried to crank the engine over but it wouldn't crank.... I had a chip burned without the VATS in it so it cant be the vats..... I have power to the ignition but i don't have power to the prple wire on the starter nor to the relay that the purple wire plugs into on the terminal on the fire wall on the drivers side. I took all the relays off the car i got the tuned port system off of, the only thing i had to change in that terminal was the plug that goes to the tranny since mine is manual and the donor car was automatic. Also i noticed the orange "SECURITY" light in the instrument panel stays lit and won't go off..... This is driving me insane anyone have any suggestions?

Strange...usually if the security light stays on it is a VATS issue. Are you sure you had vats bypassed in the chip? Maybe you can try manually bypassing VATS with a resistor, this way you can be totally sure it is or isn't vats.
That really sounds like VATS to me. Mine did the same thing when the vats went out. I wasn't getting power to the small purple wire going to the starter silenoid. You might want to try bypassing it. Check out the tech section. Just a thought.

VATs does 2 things. It sends a signal to the ECM to allow it to use the injectors, and it enables a relay that allows the starter to engage.
The only way around the starter relay is to bypass it, the chip has nothing to do with that.
If that's not the problem, then apparently you did something else to that circuit while you were doing the swap. Nothing we can do to help you there, just a matter of tracing circuits.

It is definately VATS, the orange light goes out if it is working properly. Try spraying contact cleaner on the key and in the keyhole. This fixed my VATS problem I had just a few days ago.
