the question: will a motor built with the following make great power or will it run out of steam by 5000rpms?
383
superram
58mm TB
2.05/1.60 220cc alum canfield heads (288 cfm @ .500")
solid roller valvetrain (comp custom grind) redline @ 6400 rpm
24# injectors
etc, etc
with 4.11 gears and aluminum flywheel, itll be a fast revving motor and should climb the rpm range rapidly.
now, a friend of mine tells me this motor will fall flat on its face after 4500-5000 rpms b/c the superram runs out of breath up top. he thinks i should go with a stealthram.
what do you venerable 3rd gen TPI guru's think? :hail:
choices are:
A) stay with superram, itll be fine.
B) go with ported + extrud honed superram (better flow up top)
C) go with stealthram
any input is greatly appreciated. thanks.

well i guess your buddy dont know jack **** about a superram...
with it and your combo itll pull close to 6500
any more then that will cause problems in the valve train and the bottom end
option B

I'd get on the corvette forums. A lot of them are running the super ram. I'd say the super ram will be good to around 6500 ported but i'm not sure with a 383. The stealth would probably make more peak hp but i'd stick with the super ram to make it the car more streatable, also it would probably post better average hp and torque numbers than the stealthram would, making better 1/4 runs. of course i don't have any hard numbers.

I really dig the miniram. A friend of mine has one and it pulls hard on his 350 passed 6000rpms. I know your looking at installing it on a 383.
The miniram is also really easy to install.

I ran to 5800-5900 with the superram and 219 cam. Mine was ported. I don't think it will go to 6500. The 383 reduces the hp peak. The superram is the restriction in the intake tract that will limit rpm.
