occasional start-up smoke and rough idle help!
hey guys, about 1 out every 5 times i'll get the white puff of smoke which i had read could be valve seals (been doing that since since i bought it tho), BUT this last week the idle became rough and seems to be choking, even died once, thankfully started right back up. i've been having to keep it at 800-1000rpms at stops just to make sure it doesn't die again.
what could it be? fuel injectors? i know the fuel filter is ready to go.
i won't have time to work on it till next weekend and i'm worried it will conk out on me while driving to work! -=/
any tips and suggestions appreciated!

Mine smokes a little & idles roughly for a minute or two after sitting over night. My fuel filter is fresh, it has a fairly new fuel pump, clean fuel system, new ignition components... I haven't heard of bad valve seals or head gaskets causing rough idle, so I don't know either. Just had some related info.

I had the same problem on my 87 GTA, I relplaced my IAC and fixed the problem. I don't think you will have to worry about it putting you down though.
