VSS Question
ok I have a 86 TPI 305 MAF. I did an auto to manual swap on it.I put in an 84 T-5 then a tremec 3550, car has the cable driven speedo. Ok now for the problem, I am getting Error Code:24 VSS circuit error. I didn't put a VSS in the new tranny as I didn't thik there was one as the 84 didn't have one and it never tripped the code. Can someone tell me what is going on?

You had no VSS at all on your old auto trans? I know you said you have the cable driven speedo, but the VSS has a few other functions that the computer uses it for.
When I swapped to an auto from manual, I would get a code only when I really got on it. THen the car would run badly until I restarted it. I did not want install a new speedo cause my orginal was electric and my TH-350 would not accept the VSS I used a VSS from Jags that Run to fix my problem...

Thanks a million.. that is what I was thinking since I read up and notice some people talking about "in the speedo" but I Wasn't sure if it was on the actual device or just people refering to the whole get-up (cable, drive, gear) as the speedo.
