Ported TPI Setup...What other changes do i need?

I am putting a new TPI system on the car.

58mm tb, large siamese ported runners, plenum with walls knocked out, and a ported intake manifold.

i know i need to make adjustments to air fuel ratio, since im going to have ALOT more air coming in. what is the best way to do this? and what else do i need to help this tpi system get the most?
would gettin a custom chip be the best bet?
thanx for any help.

*edit - oh, headers and cam will be the next purchases. - edit*

Definately need to reprogram your PROM. You could learn to tune your own or just buy one. Cam and headers sound like a good move. If you are auto maybe a higher stall TC. Gears make you take off quicker. The list never ends...

adjustable fuel pressure regulator. that way you can raise the pressure to add fuel. a prom will help fine tune it.

i have a 2400-2600 tq on the way, should be here in a couple days. as far as reprogramming the prom, im clueless. would my best bet be to buy a jet chip? i know lopers performance shop down here carries stage 2 chips for my car. should i buy one of those or have one custom?

now...higher gears (numericaly) = higher top speed? or quicker take-off?
i use the car mostly for "light to light" racing, but i will be taking it to the 1/4 pretty often..and yes it has a performance 700r4.

I don't know about any aftermarket chips. I have only burned my own. Honestly, its not that bad. Just takes some research and time. And you can be in business to burn for what an aftermarket chip costs.

If you were to go with lower gears(high numerical) you would have more of a torque multiplication for quicker acceleration and to keep your engine in the RPM range where you are making power. Your top speed would be limited a little, but for what you are doing I don't think you would notice. With your auto, 3.73s would be a good choice, still give you some highway compatability. That ratio is a good all around performance choice for street and strip.

Some drag radial and rear suspension work will make a world of difference in the way you hook up and launch...
