checkin out my new motor today
I'm checking out the motor that I will be hopefully dropping in my GTA today.
It's a 383 with Keith Black domed pistons with a compression of 9.2:1. A forged crank and rods along with a roller ZZ3 cam. The heads are Trick Flow 64cc, the intakes a Lingenfelter, ported stock plenum, TPIS runners and the stock 48mm throttle body. It also has a chip in it and a brand new one in the box. (just don't know what kind they are yet) It's all connected to a full SLP exhaust from headers, a dead cat and a 3" exhaust. The tranny is a worked 700-R4 with a 2200 stall converter. The motor and tranny have about 30,000 miles on them.
I have the SLP fresh air kit c/o Ebay sitting in my garage to put in. Besides changing the throttle body to 52 - 58mm (?) a fuel pressure regulator and injectors to SVO's does anyone have any other suggestions while I have the motor and tranny out? Would the Holley StealthRam make a big difference from what's there already?
With decent tires and stock gears (323's) I would like to get in the 12's if I can.
Last question - do you think my t-tops are gonna be able to hold it all together with good sub frame connectors?

Checked it out today, and need to ut up any corrections in case anyone looked at this. The compression is 9.7:1 and the pistons are dished not domed. The engine sounds like an animal - I can't wait to do the swap.
