Fuel pump relay Help

Fuel pump relay Help
I just applyed power to the G terminal of the aldl port The fuel did not give pressure but the relay was making a clicking sound every time I applyed power. Do I have a Bad realy or fuel pump? I have an 86 Chevy camaro Iroc-z 305 tpi... Thanks Joined: Oct 2002

sounds like the the pump might be bad, you can try to get a new relay but its a long shot, if u can hear the relay engage and disengage most likely its working right :-(

Back-feeding power to the fuel pump through the ALDL should not operate the relay. If the relay is "clicking" during this exercise, you may have a faulty one. Power DOES have to route through the NC contact of the relay, so the relay and its wiring needs to be intact for this test to work:

I'd suggest testing for voltage at the tank connector or relay socket wiring before condemning the pump.
