Porting plenum instructions.

I did a search and came up with quite a few results. Most answered my questions about what affects and all porting the plenum will do, but I need instructions on how to remove the plenum and runners, port the plenum and put everything back together. I saw a post that had a pdf file that i'm guessing would explain all this, but the file would not open up. Almost like the file was gone or the site was down. Any instructions/help/sugg/pics are appreciated. Thanks.

Cool pics, I hope mine comes out as good. but we both mean the actual removal of the plenum/runners/intake.

If anyone had the ft/lbs and tightening sequence for the intake manifold, that would be great!

HOLY CHIT!!! man, looks like you had yourself a good ol time with that plenum!!! my pics arent that good, but here is what i did. I need to take new pics soon cause i cleaned up the inside and smoothed out the side castings.

I wouldn't have opened the entire face of the plenum like that, but that's just me. I'd try to avoid any sharp angles, like the flat "wall" behind the throttle body that can induce turbulence and lost flow. That's really no better than the flat flange under a square-bore carb in an open well or TBI throttle body (which is the primary reason for a spacer that improves the flow).

WTF? It opened up once then IE crashed and now it won't open up? I restarted too. It just loads a blank page and says done. Thats what it was doing before from that old post I saw where you posted that pdf.

it may create turbulance but it really doesnt matter, since the air is stored in the plenum and sucked down the runners for the intake charge, and then the pulses that come back up the runners into the plenum. so the turbulance doesnt really make a problem, the plenum is one big box of turbulance with the pulses coming up and down the runner tubes in and out the plenum, what u wouldnt want is turbulance in the runner tubes or the or the intake ports in the heads.

It works for me, how were you opening it? Did you right-click and download it to your computer? Or did you just click on it?

I bet you if you re-install Adobe Acrobat reader, it will fix the problem you are having.

When it worked the only time, I had just clicked on the link. But after downloading it and trying it and reinstalling Acrobat and trying it, it keeps saying that the file is damaged and cannot be repaired. So, can you just maybe copy and paste the instructions and pics and email em' to me? blodwick01@hotmail.com

K. It works for me. But I use NutScrape instead of Internet Destroyer. Acrobat 4.0 and higher work great, too.

Try a right-click on the link and save it to a local directory, then open it from the local drive through Acrobat.

I can email an WordPerfect document, but a MS Word *.DOC is about 10MB with the same data. (Anyone beginning to see a string of "issues" with MicroSoft stuff?)

Wow, you use Netscape?

Been online since 95, and I used to only use it. Now that Netscape is open source, it seems to have gone downhill (Gold 3.0 was my personal favorite)

How can you stand the incompatibilities with Windows Media Player, and various other plugins Netscape doesn't seem to support to well?

(Edit: I don't mean for this to sound like an insult at all, I am just curious if you have encountered many problems with various websites, and if so/not, what version of Netscape are you running?)

I also agree about Adobe Acrobat, it's sweet stuff, and it took off with a big boom so it's a good format to use.
