tpi roc no more......LT1
tpi roc no more......LT1
Well the LT1 intake is in and running, Had 3 days of fun with it before it nuked my tranny, go figure
Guess that means its making more power?
Just thought I'd throw out another LT1 success story.

Just thought I'd throw out another LT1 success story. I wanted something easy to install, and that made some power, I got one of my wishes
After sorting out and tweaking a few things, the LT1 intake came off/on quick and easy. At first I didn't know what to think of the power, after a while It started to settle and just when I started to have some fun my slush box crapped out, no more automatics for me, the next one is a WC T5, and then a T56 from there next year (bank account willing)

I just had my TH700R4 rebuilt. The guy put in a bunch 2003 Cadillac Escalade clutches, bands, etc. It runs like a top now. The whole job cost about $1800.
If you want to retain your automatic, you might want to look into this.

Automatic never again
I've had my share, I'm done with them
WC T5 this year, T56 hopefuly next
a TH350 wouldn't be so bad, but with 3.73's on a daily driver OD is nice and important to me.

How do you get in touch with John Millican??? I just bought the Hot Cam kit, and I think the LT1 intake would work MUCH better than the stock TPI setup.....did you lose any driveability with the LT1 intake? any torque loss? Also, Ive heard about people having some leak issues with the intake....true? Looks great man......wish I could find some dyno numbers.....or would it be the same as the actual Lt1???
Millicans site is www.lt1intake.com his email is listed there
also he is a board member here, he shows up occasionally and may even respond to this.
No it would not be the same power as the original LT1 due to MANY variables, compression, no distrib, different cam grinds, aluminum heads with different intake ports, yadda yadda..
The hotcam would be a perfect mate to the LT1 intake on a street car, If i had to guess I'd say there was no loss of torque but the curve DEFFINATLY got wider, and as for drivability, its MORE drivable than the TPI was, by far. Its a smooth strong electric power from stall all the way beyond 6,000 rpms.
