finding a code...........

my car is thowing a code, and i heard from someone that there is a way to find the code on the cars. he said something to the affect of turning the key off and on like 4 times, the the ses light will flash say 2 times then like 3 times so then you have a 23 code. is this true???? or how exactly do you do this.

Duke turn the key on.... the SES light should flash you the code 12.... 3 times telling you that the system is working properly. Then it will flash any other codes telling you if you have any other problems. You need to loop circuits A and B at the diagnostic terminal under the dash for this to work though.

It's the open diagnostic plug under the dash on the drivers side.... A and B should be the top two ports on the right hand side of the plug.
