Time For New Cam
I have an 87 IROC with a 383, 10.5 comp , tf 23* heads ,super ram ,58 mm tb , 1.5 roller rockers ,edel crap headers , 24lb inj . I have in the car now a SLP cam part # 51010 . It has a duration of 224 intake , 230 exhust the gross lift is .502 in .510 ex . The car dynoed at max tq 403lb and 276 hp at the rear wheels. the cars best time so far is a 12.978@103.95 . I have herd great things about the linginfelter 219 . What inprovements whould I see with this cam . with my set up . It seems that every one is using the afr190's , 1.6 rr's . Will I have around the same results with the TF 23* AND 1.5RR'S ? No port work has been to the motor ,SORRY FOR THE LONG POST .

The lingenfelter 219 cam you mentioned has less duration but more lift. It specs out to 219* duration with .560" lift. According to the Lingenfelter web page it is designed for use with the Super ram, which you have. My biggest question is what kind of tune is that thing in. What are you using for an EPROM? The HP seems low for what you are packin.
Also the TFS heads that you have are very similar to the AFR 190s in terms of airflow.
In my opinion, keep the cam you have now and add the 1.6 RR. Keep your duration up and increase you valve lift.
