Using gaskets on SuperRam, plenum to runners.

My driver side runner were the plenum attaches is not completely flat. I know I should take it down and get it milled, but right now I really do not want to do that and I think that it might be OK.
So would it be better to use the gasket or would it be better to use Permatex’s gasket maker (it’s called The Right Stuff).
I would send the runner back to Accel, but I have had the SR for a long time and I already modified the runner, I had to make my own lid as the one that came with the SR was warped.

That sucks....Ive read about the lids being warped but never anything about the runner flanges. If its not that bad I would put some black sealer on the runner then lay the gasket down and put some more of the black on the otherside. Cleanup any thats in the runner tubes before you bolt the lid down.

I want to see your ride soon man!
I will try that, might get some gasket material that is a little thicker and make some new ones, the ones from Accel are a little thin and having them a little thicker might help.
They machined the top of the runner funny, it seem to have a raised spot in the middle. I filed it down some and got the straight edge to almost touch in all directions and from the passenger side runner to the driver side.
That's how my luck seems to be going on this car, I will not let it win, I will win in the end, or die trying.
You will Ragtop, one of these days, I hope.

I think Accel was trading the billlet lids to anyone who got a warped cast lid at no cost. Might want to ask them about that too.
As far as sealing the runner, I'd also do the gasket maker/gasket sandwhich, or get another set of runner/plenum gaskets and double stack them if you don't want to use gasket maker.
