Good combo?

Since I'm obsessed and have almost figured out every aspect of my huge mod list, I thought I may as well finalize my engine components (even though it won't happen for a couple years ). Will the following make a good combo?

305 TPI
LT1 Intake
World Products S/R Torquer heads
Chevrolet ZZ4 cam

This will be, of course, alongside many other mods - free mods, full exhaust, and a ton others...thanks in advance.

The LT1 intake is too much for a 305. I would try to concentrate my power (if I had a 305) all down low. That means staying with TPI long tube runner style intake, a low lift long duration cam, and those heads you chose would do fine.

I personally don't feel that the LT1 intake would be too much for a 305, based on the fact that those who have actually done the swap really like it, whereas those who haven't say the LT1 isn't suitable...I'm not trying to insult you or anything, just stating my opinion.

I do know that the intake swap will cause the 305 to lose some low end, but I also know that the ZZ4 cam is known for making good hp/tq in the said RPM range, so I'm thinking the two would equal out - provide a lot of benefit without much (if any) loss...or is my logic flawed?

If the cam is designed for good low end torque, and the intake does not support that - you have a mismatched combo - no low end, and bad top end. IMHO the LT1 intake could work well with a 305, but creating great low end power would be easier/cheaper.

Ah, ok, thanks for clearing me up with that. I certainly know at least my fair share about cars but I've only begun looking into head/cam/intake mods somewhat recently...thanks again, maybe I'll re-think my choices. Now I have to try and decide what I like more - getting slammed into the back of my seat from the torque more or spinning the rear tires from the horsepower ...I know Ron Mullins (who did the intake swap with Torquer S/Rs) said the engine really woke up, lost some torque but still has a pretty good amount, and spins the tires much more easily...hmm..
