I assume the marine 350 Chevy blocks are the 78 and older style and would need a different flex plate to match to the 4 speed auto in the ol '86 T.A. Has anyone had any experience with any marine blocks to say for sure if anything else would be different? Hopefully the heads have the accessory holes, but I could always fine a set of heads at a salvage yard if not.

You will need to replace the cam unless you are going to run your car around town at 8000 rpms or so. The Marine cams are made for high rpm HP and not a lot of TQ, do a search on Marine engines on this site there is a lot of info about them.

Thanks. I'll go search. I figured my request was so far off the wall that I didn't even bother with a search.

Actually, now that I do search for it, all I'm finding are the newer Vortec marine hits, nothing about older marine type engines. Anyone a boater that would know for sure if the old marine 350 blocks are the same? Cranks?
