Roller Rockers

I have a stock 1986 305 TPI LB9. I want to get some roller rockers. How do i know what kind to get? Self aligning or not? What other kinds are there? How do you install them without any trouble? Thanks alot in advance.

If your heads are stock then you dont need self aligning, and the size is 3/8".

Self aligning rockers dont have anything to guide the pushrods (its a part of the rocker)

non self aligning rockers have guideplates or the heads guide the pushrods

the size is your stud, stock studs are 3/8", 7/16" is usually aftermarket studs.

If you're going to buy them get 1.6s

I want to get some roller rockers and bolt them on to my stock heads but then be able to switch them over to some aluminum heads when i get them. Which would i need SA or non SA? and who makes good roller rockers? Also, do i need to get new pushrods or springs with the stock heads?

You want non self aligning

Even with aftermarket you can throw on some guide plates and use your non SA rockers.

If you buy SA now you can't use them on your heads

another thing to remember is to make sure u get rocker arms that will fit for stock valve covers and they make narrow body rocker arms for centerbolt valve covers
