knock sensor going nuts makes engine pop???

anybody know what would cause my knock sensor to be making readings of up to 14 at low RPM and light throttle? the sensor is about 3 weeks old and worked fine until a few days ago it started to stumble when the engine was cold and taking off with light throttle from a stop it would stumble and pop through the intake now it is getting worse and will stumble a bit when it is worm but dosen't pop and will hardly accelerate with light throttle when it is cold and pops continusly until the RPMs get up or I give it half or more throttle the sensor works fine with high RPMs or lots of throttle and is the worst in open loop. does this sound like a bad sensor? or some kind of computer problem? any help will be appriciated
Thanks
Kevin

Are there any trouble codes?
What is your base timing set at?

A pop through the intake is caused by ignition while the intake valve is open. I don't think this has anything to do with the knock sensor.

The only thing that you could have done, was screw the sensor into the block too far, which will make the sensor more sensative, and give knock counts when there is no real kncok (IE picking up lifter sounds)....

Sounds like your timing is out of whack or your Ignition Control Module is shot.

That's my ideas.

the base timing is 6* and there are no trouble codes but the map sensor is a bit out of range but it may be the the cam or blower causing it or could it caus all this?
Thanks

If you put the cam in at the wrong degree it could cause the problem yes, dont' know about the blower.

the cam was degreed in to comps spec and the thing I don't get is why it just happend and is getting worse? I checked all the obvyous like somthing broke in the distributer or bent shaft and the gear and everything looks great the only thing I have not checked yet is the coil I also noticed it is slightly worse when the A/C is on and is making the engine work a bit more at idle?
