I've got a stainless bolt kit that I bought from Cruzin Performance. I got the button head style, and I polished all of them. They look great, but you need to be careful not to overtighten them, because at least with the button head, it doesn't take much to strip the allen head. You also need to use never-seez on the threads otherwise they will gall.

Yeah I've had my eye on that too. I'm going to order the hex head though because I don't want to deal with allen or torx anymore. Boltlocker has a good reputation and price so I'm ordering one of their kits. Check their site first though because I've seen some people bidding over what they sell them for from their web site.

I can think of more than one place where you won't be able to fit a socket over a hex bolt. GM used torx for a reason. If I were you I'd stick with the allen stuff, or stock GM torx.

Theres only 1 or 2 spots that a socket wont fit but I can always use the TORX bolts for that. The spots are I think on the bottom runner bolts...thats it..

are the stainless steel bolts weaker than the stock bolts?

I've bought one of those allen head kits from ebay, truly a waste of money, some of the bolts were the incorrect lenght, they seem to stirp out as easy as the factory ones, I threw mine away and used the factory bolts

Take the bolts you want to replace to a locatl nut/bolt supply store (not a hardware, but nut and bolt specifically), and ask them for stainless cap head bolts, Metric, in those dimensions. That's all I did. Cheap.

I believe GM's torq bolts are stronger than the stainless, but consider you are bolting into aluminum. So the weakest part is the aluminum. And make sure to use anti-seeze on all bolts. Stainless does not expand at the same rate as aluminum.

Mark.
