question about headers HELP!

i have a 91 tpi and im wondering if putting headers on the car will mean that i have to get a new chip burned? is this the case? ive read that the map systems need to get a new chip made everytime you add something like that to the car? is that true? HELP! thanks.

Technically, headers will *free up* more power, because it allows the engine to breathe better. This means that the engine can use more air/fuel to run, and thus can be benefited by a custom chip.

Though it's not nessecary.
