can i get rid of my governor????

i have an 87 IROC 350 TPI and hopefully will be back on the road soon after a 5 month restoration/repair period and i was wonderin if there is any way of disabling or getting rid of the governor?

The "governor" as you call it is a program embedded in the computer chip. I believe for most of our cars it tops out at 115mph. A new chip should take care of this. Do a search on the boards for "speed limiter", the topic has come up before.
