Nobody uses Ram Jet intake?

The bare intake is $380 from gmpartsdirect. I know there are costs on top of that (fuel rails, LS1 TB, AFPR). But it doesn't seem too inexpensive for a short style intake that will work with vortec and fastburn heads. Certainly seems like a better option than the scoggin dickey intake and LTR setup. I'm surprised more people aren't doing this...

Does anyone know what kind of power a RamJet intake would make with Vortec heads and a matching cam? CC305, LPE219, LT4 Hotcam?

What about the same combo with fastburn heads?

Do a search, there was a long thread ( a few hundred posts) on this about 6mo's to a year ago. It had all the parts listed for the conversion included. IIRC, one of the drawbacks was the tuning and height, the controller needed to be sent out.

Don't know if anyone (although there was talk) used the 730ecm to make it run.

I was going to use the ramjet intake and vortec heads but after you piece everything together the price goes up around $800-$900.If you allready have TPI the StealthRam is the way to go.

I may be able to get the Ramjet at dealer price, since it is a GM product and a friend of mine works at a chevy dealer. That's why I'm very interested in the vortec/ramjet or fastburn/ramjet combo.

Performance-wise, I couldn't imagine it being all that much different than a Mini-Ram. They're both short runner manifolds with large plenums. It seems to me that the only difference is really the geometry of the throttle body. Except for probably a different IAC and TPS (which will require some harness alterations provided the signal outputs are essentially the same), the 7730 ECM should work just fine with it. It's just injectors, MAP, CT, MAT sensors, and such.... all the same as a regular TPI. Though the EPROM calibration will undoubtedly be different.
