superram starter problems
howdy i am having a bit of a dilemma... to make the long story short..... i had a shop build me a motor years ago and they put a 383 motor and used a 454 ministarter to my knowledge. well the starter went to hell today and tried to buy a new one at autozone and they dont make them anymore. so what are u guys using to start your cars with? i have absolutely no knowledge about what starter and all. i have been trying to get my new setup started it fired today for the first time but had to shut it off cuz starter pin wouldnt go back in. so any help here would be appreciated. thanks for your time

being a 383 they used a 168 tooth flexplate (unless it is an internally balanced crank). one for a 400 motor. some mini high torque starts have a dual bolt pattern to space it for either the 153 or 168 tooth flexplate. like this one http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=CSI%2D100U
