The dual snorkel intake I have seem pretty restricive....am I wrong or is this actually a pretty ****ty setup?

It seems to narrow down to the point it doesn't do a good job. ????

 

I don't have flow numbers, so this might be totally worthless.

I've seen discussions on that here before. I think I remember them saying that it flows pretty decent. The bottom of the air box below the filters is supposed to be the big restriction.
