Does an airfoil not block IAC passages?

I was looking at a pic posted by Vader that labeled parts of a throttle body. It looked to me as if the IAC passages were behind where the airfoil goes. Is this not a problem? I could be wrong, I don't know anything about this so thats why I'm asking lol.

most air foils should have a small notch for the IAC air to pass through
