not passing IM to much fuel at idle
not passing IM to much fuel at idle
I have an 89 trans am with the 5.7 TPI, i've had trouble with
it before wich in the end turned out being the computer,
i have replaced the o2 sensor and the ignition control module
the horse shoe kinda deal under the distributor cap, and the
computer all parts from NAPA the car has sat for a long time
i was going to get it IM'd but it has failed twice for too much
fuel at idle ?? the guy from Jiffy Lube said it was probable
due to a stuck or dirty injector i was wondering if anyone had
any insight on the subject , and if i wanted to keep the car
street legal and were going to buy accel injectors do i need
the OEM injectors wich some web site said were 21 pounds
per hour or if i could use some higher pressure like the 24's
and still pass im ?? oh yeah Chevron put a new fuel pressure
regulator on it for me wich i did not need not exactly sure
they got the right one the bastards couldnt even get it on
there with out leaking but thats another subject :P

let the car run for a minute or 2 then shut offand pull the fpr hose off.see if its wet inside or damp and smells like fuel.i know you said it was repaced but you also said you had problems with it leaking.if it leaks past the diaphram inside it will run rich cause the vacum hose runs into intake.good luck.eric
