pre 89 runners for TPI

Sometimes things just don't go your way. My thermostat gasket was leaking, so I decided to change gaskets. Figured I'd go ahead and swap some runners I had ported. I knew these were from a pre-89 car, but I didn't notice any difference until I got them partially on. This is after I spent 4 hours removing a stripped bolt.

There is a hole (injector?) on the driver side runner where there isn't one on the 89. Anybody run into this before? Is there a simple way to plug it or block it off? or, Am I destined to use the runners that I just took off?

Thanks

On top of that I busted my windshield while sitting on it working on the car...

So much for racing this weekend. $200 port and swap job thanks to the windshield alone.

Sorry to hear your troubles. That hole is for teh cold start injector. They sell a cold start injector delete. Or you can do what i did and go to pep boys or whatever part store and get a similar size freeze plug. Worked out great for me.

I'm going to try tapping and plugging the holes...

EDIT:
No tap for the plug that I have. So I'll try JB Weld or Quick Steel.
Anybody tried that? Forsee any problems?

Quicksteel worked fine...in case anybody runs into same problem.
