Have you been to the DIY PROM Board lately?

You guys should check out whats up, flash programming without removing the chip, on the fly is coming soon as well.

Look for the posts about "Prominator".

No reason not to start now.

I agree, those guys are making DIY chip burning so much easier. I give all of them props!! You can already tune on the fly; you need to use TunerCat R_T and an ALDL cable connecting your laptop to the ECM. The Prominator is basically a non removable flash chip in the ECM. So instead of using a burner to burn a new chip (after tuning) and pop it in, you now just hook up to the prominator and copy it over. Using the above methods you dont even need to deal with swapping chips anymore. They've even got DIY WB02 going so now you can tune your A/F ratio as well. Definately a good time to get into tuning with the stock GM equipment.

They way I understood it, is there's two flashroms installed, you drive with one, make change to the other, then "switch".
