alternator

is it the same kind of alternator and brakets on a tpi camaro as a tpi vette?

The vettes ran a serpentine system right from 84, but the f-body didn't go to serpentine until 88. If both cars are 87 or older, the alternator will probably interchange with no more than a possible re-clocking and a new pulley. Almost all GM alternators were the same until 88. The mounting brackets are totally different, and the alternator is even on the opposite side of the car.

The 88+ serpentine f-body uses a completely different mounting bracket, and a different alternator case, so those won't work unless you want to swap the guts to the f-body case.
