I am planning on the HSR among other things. I've looked through most of the threads pertaining to the HSR. I was a little suprised of a pic I came across showing just the manifold installed. It looks like it is way to tall as it is, let alone adding the plenum. So the question is this, Is everyone running a cowl with the HSR? I am not opposed to that idea. My Z is in the process of being painted, so getting the hood is only the matter of money. I dont plan on getting the car running and painted until next summer.........

 

The HSR hit my stock IROC hood on the inner bracing (it was actually the throttle body that was hitting). I'm now using a Glasstek 2.5" cowl hood. You could cut out a portion of the inner bracing on the stock hood and it should be okay. I think it would depend on what kind of motor mounts you're using too. I'm using Prothane poly motor mounts and the motor seems to sit slightly higher, adding to the problem.

 

I'm still running the stock mounts, so maybe I'll have more room...But I'll probaly get a cowl. Thanks
