i need to find out what year this tpi setup is my brother brought it home one of the guys at the dealer he works for gave it to him but did not remeber the year of the car how do i tell what year it is i dont have the computer so i cant cross the number at work any help would be great i like to get this thing on this 85 iroc we got i just got the 400 done so i need to know what heads to get thank you rob

 

If you see a Mass Airflow Sensor then its a 86-89 TPI. If the runners have holes for an extra injector at the top part of the runner (right in between the tubes), then its a Cold Start Injection TPI (86-88). If you dont see either of the above, good chance its the newer Speed Density TPI (90-92).

 

i dont have a mass air meter but there is a cold start injector on the bottom of the driver side runner right in the middle of the front and rear runners

 

You can still run speed density if you want. Or find a MAF sensor. Depends what computer you've got I guess. The cold start injector wasn't used after 87.
