....to cross over from a MAFS setup? Car is in sig....the MAF is brand new and its giving me a code 33 for high voltage...its making the car fluctuate with RPMS even at 50-55mph....if you let your foot off the gas, the rpms drop to 1k, then rev up to 2k, then drop again, then rev up, etc etc....over and over....wtf??? anyway, i want to get rid of the MAFS system....is this a hard thing to do? Expensive? Whats involved? Reprogramming of the comp?? Some advice would be great....thanks....

When you installed the new MAF did you disconnect the negative battery cable and reset the comp? I switched my MAF system in my 85z28 to speed density. You will need a comp from a 90-92 camaro (or other comparable vehicle)#1227730. Also a stock chip as well unless you get a custom one. You will have to replace the wiring harness as well. I used a painless 90-up harness. You can get the comps on ebay pretty reasonable. Go to search in the parts category and typw in the comp number. Hope this helps.

sounds to me like you have a vacuum leak, or an improperly set IAC/TPS.
Add a bunch of hacked up wires to the mix is going to do nothing but complicate troubleshooting the existing problem..
Go around your intake with some Ether, and I bet you find your vacuum leak. Reset the IAC/TPS also.

If he really gets into it, he'll be stripping out the extra wiring that the MAF system uses, and actually be making the wiring simplier.
Can you explain what IAC setting problem would cause the RPM to fluctuate at freeway speed?.

Yeah your right. The better idea is to add a bunch more altered wiring/connections (simplify) the existing setup.
That way he can not only trouble shoot the obvious problems that exist like probably a vacuum leak, etc. But also wonder is a connection might not be 100% right.
But the bright side is you'll gain probably 30hp from the MAF=>SD system
