open element/maf???

Are there any open elements available for a car with an MAF? Every open element setup I see does not have a MAF on it. Enlighten me please. Thanks.

why would you want an open element? you'd make more power with a DIY cold air kit.

You would want to buy a cone filter for an MAF setup if you wanted an open element.

It would be a better option for a cold air kit because you won't bring hot air in from the engine compartment.

Arent open elements a lot less restrictive though? Since the l98 has gobbs of low end torque I figure working on top end horsepower would be ideal, and I'm under the assumption that open elements are better for that area... Enlighten me if otherwise.

Sucking in more hot is counterproductive, better to get a little less air that is much cooler, temps can get up over 200 under the hood

If you get an underhood ramair, or make one yourself,(which is not complictated at all) air will be forced in to an extent. The TPIs Intake design is what makes it run out of breath at high rpms.
