Do you have a laptop?
yes- make your own interface cable and download craig moates software and scan the car.
no- buy one....you only need a simple DOS one for running craigs software......

ARG!!!!! I need help badly. Took the car in to have the fusable link going to the ECM replaced and that didnt clear up the codes at all. Had them hook it up to a scanner and see if they could figure anything out and they came up with nothing. I'm getting really sick of bumming rides to and from work anyone in the northern virginia area thats good with MAFs and troubleshooting that feels like taking a look at it shoot me a PM. Anyone with any thoughts please share...

well, you cant really "test" for one but you can visually inspect the vacuum hoses around the engine. if your engine isnt too noisy you can also hear them -- they tend to hiss.

I'm kind of stuck and it sucks, I've taken it to two local mechanics and they must just plain suck or they don't care enough or something. I wonder what they would do if it was their car? Probly try harder to find the problem. I did what I could so I took it to an "expert" and was let down, twice now. Dunno what to do.

I'm under the impression you only have to disconnect the negative terminal to clear the codes correct? Or am I mistaken and you have to disconnect both? I disconnected the negative for a half hour.
Hey
I know that you said that the relay(s) were replaced. Did you replace one or two. If one relay was replaced, there is a chance that you replaced the wrong one. On my IROC the MAF relay is right next to another relay that is same style/type as the MAF relay. When I had a code 34 I replaced the wrong relay and I thought it was the MAF one.
Just a idea.

Yes, there are three relays in that area, one for maf power, one for maf burnoff, and a third for the fuel pump. I am not 100% certain, but, I think all three of these are the same, real easy to grab the wrong one...... (I haven't had to play with these for a while.... so, I just dont remember....)

The MAF relay and the MAF Burn-off relay are the same, the fuel pump relay is different. Rounded edges versus square edges.

both replays were replaced.. all plugs have been taken out inspected and reseated. Not sure about the ECM how would I test other than putting someone elses in as I have no friends with a car this cool (not true I have a friend with a 95 vette and another friend with a 98 'maro). At least not cool enough to have the same ECM as me.
