Buying a B4C
Hey, i didnt see any place to put this question so its goin here.
Today i served a devorce paper to this guy out in teh country. turns out he owns a 92 B4C with 76k miles on it and paint is still good, interior in near perfect, and all documents. he wants $8,000 for it because hes gettin devorced and dont want his wife to take it hes sellin it quick.
tell me, is this guy crazy, normal, or asking too much wich i doubt because its a B4C to begin with. basicly i want your opinions on weather to take the time for a car loan and get it cuz i might not see one again or what not. thanks!

Well here's my experiences. I once owned a 92 Camaro RS (B4C) with 92K miles. I bought the car from a police officer that didnt know anything about how rare the B4C package was. The car was perfect. Paint was still good, interior was perfect, A/C cold, no mechanical issues. Car was pretty much flawless and I drove it every day. One day I got this message from one of the members here on the boards. He had always wanted to own a B4C and he heard I had one so he made me an offer to buy it. I could not refuse what he offered so I sold Benny the car for $7000.
What I'm trying to say is, if someone wants something then they will pay for it. I had no intentions of selling that car for $7000, but someone wanted it that bad and they got it. So if you want a B4C bad enough to pay $8000, then its worth it.
Here's what I recommend. First make sure its a B4C. The car will be badged as an RS. If it says Z28 then its not a B4C unless it was re-badged (bad idea on this rare of a car). Then, find the RPO code in the glove box in the trunk (drivers side). Open it and you'll see lines of 3 letter/number codes. Find B4C. Then do a quick check of the brakes. If the fronts are 12" rotors (noticably bigger than the stock 10.5" rotors) then there is a good chance its a B4C. Also, run a carfax to make sure it was not totalled during service (these cars were run hard!). Then, if you really want the car, make the guy an offer. In his situation, I think you have the upper hand. He wants to sell it before the wife gets it, so make him an offer. Chances are, nobody else is going to give him $8,000, so offer him lower. If you dont mind possibly missing out on the deal, you could even lowball him ($6000!). Its really up to how bad you want a B4C. I think they are great! (1LE brakes and A/C stock!).

did the BC4 cars have roll cages too? I have seen a few that did, but wondered if the pigs put them in or could you order it in the package.
