TPI Harness 90-92 SD Manual vs auto transmission

Can anyone tell me the difference between a manual (tranny) SD harness & a automatic (tranny) SD harness?

From what I understand the manual does not have any connections from the harness as the auto does.

Can I just move it (extra connection) out of the way?

Thanks to all.

I used a manual harness on an automatic. It was a few years ago but seem like I only had to add wires for TCC and 4th gear. Should work fine by removing those wires for a manual.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. If I convert from a T56 to a 700r4 what will I have to add into my factory manual SD harness?? Is it that hard? Because if I go to an auto I want to be able to control the TCC in the ECM like stock. Thanks!

How would you go the opposite way. I have a auto speed density harness and I installed a manual into the car, so I have the TCC connector but I don't have the reverse lights. How would I wire up the reverse light connector?

David,

That is what I am doing. So that is my question. If it is just a reverse lights issue, NBD.

Does everthing else work fine?

If the only difference is the backup lights, I can remove the backup light wire from my old harness (TBI) and wire it in.. I hope.

Anyone else? Does anyone know about the back lights?

the harness that went to your factory auto shifter has the reverse lights in it they are the blue wire and the green run those two out through the shift boot and connect to the 2pin conn at the drivers side of tranny.....

The auto harness has P/N, TCC, 4th gear. Manual has shift light control. Everything else is the same. Just tape the unused wires out of the way. If you are missing wires, just buy some wire and the correct connectors for the ends and plug them into the correct blank in the harness plug. And make sure your ECM has the correct chip for your application. Then dirve it like you stole it!
