i also believe that you have to have a chip burned for the short runners and egr delete,as i see it you cannot go wrong with this intake, this does not rule out the other intakes such as:SUPERRAM awesome intake maintains tq numbers,LT1-MINI RAM you will suffer a little tq loss but larger hp gain,HSR flatout awesome design so depending on your combo any of these intakes could be the one to compliment your car,do your own research with the hp/tq numbers vs. your head, comp.ratio, camshaft and fuel delivery/msd or hi-6

Just make sure that a few people have already tried it on the heads you're using and/or they haven't been excessively decked. A few people have had issues with the intake not fully covering the coolant outlets on the heads, giving them a lower end full of coolant.

Other than that, they seem to work fine.

FreeBird is the ONLY person in my 2 years of LT1 conversions that have claimed to dump coolent into the oil.

I have had a few complain about coolant leaking ON TOP of the intake because the intake didn't cover the upper part of the water port of the head. These were fixed by welding additional material to the intake flange.
